F1 star Pierre Gasly has been dubbed "so dangerous" after a smash that left him without brakes.

The Alpine driver collided with Yuki Tsunoda when coming out of the chicane at the famous Monaco Grand Prix - leaving his front tyre hanging off.

However, Gasly was able to pilot his car to the pitline with only a yellow flag waved - potentially dropping debris across the track, posing a safety risk to the other drivers.

Gasly was able to get off the track, but without any brakes he had to be stopped by other mechanics once he entered the pit.“Gasly can’t stop! He’s got no brakes,” said Ted Kravitz in the pits. “That was so dangerous, so dangerous...That was not on, what Gasly did."

“He’ll be in a lot of trouble for that,” Martin Brundle added after Gasly nursed his car into the pits, rather than take the first available emergency exit.

"Pierre Gasly sprinkling pieces of his car all over the track as a treat," one fan joked. While a second said: "Red flag the race...I saw a part of Gasly’s car still somewhere around too dangerous imo!"

"What Gasly did was super dangerous. There's no way he won't get a penalty," a third posted. As a fourth posted: "What did Gasly just do, that was so dangerous and stupid, right?"

And another added: "Gasly absolutely needs to be penalised for that!"

Gasly has since been "noted" for the collision and he will now face an investigation.

Red Bull's Tsunoda, who was able to continue and escaped relatively unscathed from the collision, fumed over the team radio: "Is he an idiot? What is he doing?"

Gasly was forced to retire from the race as a result of the crash.
