B.C.’s Pamela Anderson made her Met Gala debut Monday, sporting a look that likely took inspiration from her hometown on Vancouver Island.

The actress, model and media personality who calls Ladysmith home hit the red — or, in this case, pink and green — carpet wearing an Oscar de la Renta gown, which creative director Fernando Garcia described as a “fairy in the forest.”

Garcia posted to Instagram, saying, “taking you to the Met was nothing short of magic, the kind of magic you find in fairy tales with tinkerbells…”

It was Anderson’s first time attending the Costume Institute Benefit in New York City, which raises funds for the Metropolitan Museum of Art. She did so in a beige dress paired with limited edition diamonds from Pandora.

“From one garden to the next…” wrote the star, 56, in her own social media post featuring videos of her running through the museum and Central Park.

“We are honoured to be making our debut at the Met Gala alongside Pamela. This year’s ‘Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion’ theme was in perfect alignment for us…” added jeweller Pandora.

Gala organizers say $26 million was raised at Monday’s event, a record sum for the party, which was, as usual, overseen by Vogue editor Anna Wintour.

Pat McGrath was Anderon’s makeup artist, while stylist Orlando Pita did her hair in an updo, and Noel Stewert provided the faux feather headpiece.

Garcia continued, “Allowing us so much trust, made us give you the embodiment of your current state of mind: free and happy … the memory of this night is indestructible, just like you, thank you for making all our hearts big…”

What’s next?

This year, the annual invite-only fashion extravaganza had a “Garden of Time” dress code — something Anderson is surely familiar with, considering the title of her HGTV series “Pamela’s Garden of Eden.” The reality series from 2022 showed her renovating her tree-lined, waterfront Ladysmith property.

“I felt like this place was like a broken heart, which I really had to kind of turn around,” Anderson, who first rocketed to fame as a Playboy pin-up and “Baywatch” cast member, said in a November 2022 interview.

Born in Ladysmith, she attended high school in Comox before launching her career in Los Angeles in the late ’80s.

More recently, she penned the New York Times best-selling memoir “Love, Pamela,” released on Jan. 31, 2023, the same day the documentary “Pamela, a love story,” premiered on Netflix. The doc was also filmed in Ladysmith.

Next, Anderson will host the new Corus Studios series “Pamela’s Cooking With Love,” as well as the second season of “Garden of Eden.” She’s also signed on to star alongside Liam Neeson in the 2025 film “The Naked Gun.”
